Concurrent JD/LLM Program Application
Students admitted to the JD program who are interested in receiving admission into the concurrent JD/LLM program must submit a supplemental application, available below. The student's personal statement can be uploaded as part of the application. The personal statement should indicate the reasons why the candidate wishes to pursue the concurrent JD/LLM degree, his or her career objectives, special interests and accomplishments. Students may include a letter of recommendation that specifically supports the candidate’s admission to the JD/LLM program. Letters in your original JD application will also be reviewed and can be utilized if they discuss the candidate's interest in the program or international studies.
Admission decisions are based on evidence of the student’s interest, aptitude, and commitment to promoting the rule of law. Information about the academic requirements for admission, curriculum, externship placement, and cost can be found here.
Students are encouraged to apply shortly after acceptance into the JD program so that they may fully participate in activities with the international LLM students and the L-2 and L-3 concurrent students during the fall semester. There is no fixed deadline for admission, and students may also apply after they have begun courses at ONU in the fall. However, the number of seats in the program is limited so early applications are encouraged. If you application is submitted before May 31, 2017, you will receive an admissions decision within two weeks of the Office of Law Admissions receiving your application. If you apply between June 1, 2017 and August 18 you will receive a decision within 3 weeks of receiving your application.
