Biography: 

Professor French had been legislative counsel for the Council of the District of Columbia prior to joing the faculty. He has lectured at Catholic University and the University of Maryland College of Law. Professor French writes frequently on labor relations, legislative drafting and interpretation, and environmental matters. In addition to teaching and research, he has served as a member of the Allen County Bar Certified Grievance Committee, as chair of the section on Uniform State Laws of the Ohio State Bar Association, as a trustee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Northern District of Ohio, and on the ABA Criminal Justice Section Committee on Rules of Criminal Procedure and Evidence. He engages in occasional employment discrimination and civil rights litigation.
