Government Documents

The Jay P. Taggart Law Library has been a Federal Government Documents Depository Library since 1965. All items received through the depository are available for use by the general public. The majority of the documents collection is housed in the north side of the Law Library and arranged according to the Superintendent of Documents classification scheme. Patrons may search for documents in the Library's online catalog. Some older materials are housed in a closed stack area; Circulation Desk staff will be happy to retrieve any closed stack items.

If you are looking for a Congressional hearing, please note that hearings from 1981 to date are available in microfiche, and are housed adjacent to the government documents collection on the north side. Congressional hearings prior to 1981 are available in print in the closed stack area. Library staff will be happy to assist you in identifying and retrieving the hearings.

Ohio Northern University's Pettit College of Law and Taggart Law Library, a Federal Depository Library, are proud to make government documents available to the public through the Federal Digital System (FDSys).
