Stipends will be awarded for these fellowships from the proceeds of the 2014 Law Career Services Public Interest Auction being held on Friday, April 4, 2014. Student participation and support for the auction helps fund the fellowship program. Since 1994, the program has awarded almost 50% of the students applying a $1000 stipend. The amount of each stipend and the number of students awarded is determined each year by the proceeds of the Public Interest Auction. Contact PILA or the Office of Law Career Services to find out ways you or your student organization can help promote this effort.
Current placement in a public interest position is NOT REQUIRED FOR YOU TO APPLY for this fellowship by the deadline of April 14, 2014. However, the stipend is only awarded upon verification of your placement in an unpaid/volunteer position in the public sector. YOUR SUMMER PUBLIC INTEREST EMPLOYER MUST SUBMIT VERIFICATION OF YOUR SUMMER POSITION BY TUESDAY, MAY 13, 2014 or contact Cheryl Kitchen.
