Interlibrary Loan

Policies and Procedures

The Taggart Law Library provides interlibrary loan (ILL) service for books and articles that are not available through POLAR or OhioLINK.  This service is provided to law faculty, staff, and students at no charge.  For faculty, staff, and students outside of the law school, please contact Heterick Library for ILL requests.  Community users should contact their local public libraries for ILL requests.

Before requesting an item through interlibrary loan, please check POLAR, ONU's online library catalog.  If the item is not available in POLAR, you can then check the OhioLINK catalog.  OhioLINK requests are typically delivered within 3-4 business days.  You will be notified when OhioLINK requests arrive, and they can be picked up at the Circulation Desk.

If the item you want is not available through POLAR or OhioLINK, you can place an ILL request by contacting a reference librarian or by filling out the online request form below.  Please allow 7-10 days to receive the requested material by mail. Borrowers will be charged for any fines or other charges which the Taggart Law Library must pay as a result of an item being returned late or damaged or not returned at all.
