Tuition and Financial Aid
Completion of the concurrent JD/LL.M. degrees requires students to take and pay for an additional 16 credit hours of LL.M. courses outside the regular academic year schedule (two 6-credit summer externships and two January Term courses). The balance of the credits needed to earn the LL.M. degree are earned by taking courses that jointly satisfy the degree requirements for both the JD and the LL.M. While there is no separate scholarship program for the additional LL.M. courses of the concurrent JD/LL.M. program, most students enrolled in the program have substantial scholarships as part of the JD program, which are set upon acceptance to the JD program. As with all ONU JD students, you are only expected to pay additional tuition for those credits taken outside the regular required academic terms. More information about JD financial aid is available here.
The total additional cost of the 16 LL.M. credits based on tuition rates for the 2016-17 academic year is $23,040, a savings of nearly half the cost of earning the LL.M. degree independently after the JD. Student loans are available for the summer and January terms, and some externship partners offer living stipends or housing for the summers.
