10-Year Reunion Information
Welcome to the ONU LLM Reunion page! We want to share the planned activities of the celebration and provide you with details about the costs to help you with your plans to join us May 26 through 29 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
First here is what we have planned, with the help of your Georgian classmates:
Friday, May 26
Arrive in Tbilisi, welcome reception beginning at 5:00 at a location in the city center near the reunion hotel.
Saturday, May 27
Board the tour bus at 8:30 am for the beautiful drive to Tsinandali, the ancestral home of Prince Alexander Chavchavadse with its preserved manor house, gardens and winery.
At 10:00 am we will have coffee and tea on the terrace of the Conference Center followed by an update on all of the activities of the LL.M. program, the Center for Democratic Governance and Rule of Law, the law school and the university. After this you will hear from a number of your fellow LL.M. graduates talking about their experiences since graduation (let us know if you would like to share yours).
Lunch will be served following the presentations and you will then have time to explore the estate and gardens and sample the various wines produced in the region, all included in our arrangements.
At 3:00 pm we depart for Tbilisi, with the evening for you to share with your classmates or new friends among the other LL.M. classes and explore Tbilisi.
Sunday, May 28
Sunday morning at 9:00 we leave for a tour of Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia and seat of the Georgian Orthodox Church. We will spend the morning there and have lunch before returning to Tbilisi for a tour of the old city.
At 6:00 we will gather at the Shadow of Metechi Restaurant overlooking old Tbilisi for a traditional Georgian supra, an evening of dining and toasts to celebrate the 10 years of the LL.M. program, the renewal of old friendships and the forging of new ones.
Monday, May 29
Questions & Other Information
How Much Will it Cost?
Our goal is to make the reunion accessible to as many of our graduates as possible. Ohio Northern University will be covering the costs of the receptions, tours and group meals during the event. This means that you will be responsible for getting to Tbilisi and your accommodations during your stay.
We have made arrangements with the hotel coste for a number of lower priced rooms (including a room for two at $105 total if you want to get reacquainted with your roommate!). You may also want contact one of your Georgian classmates for their suggestions on accommodations.
Contact Your Classmates!
We have been hearing from many of you, and getting lots of questions about who is coming. We will try to keep the list of attendees up to date but we suggest you get in touch with your classmates and encourage them to attend.
Who Will be There From ONU?
We are still reaching out to former faculty and staff of the LL.M. program and hope many of them will be able to join us. Right now the following have told us they will be there:
- Center Director and former LLM Director Howard Fenton & Beth Fenton
- Assistant Professor and LLM Director Karen Hall
- Professor and Law Library Director Nancy Armstrong & Bruce Kennedy
- Assistant LLM Director and alumnus Brian Anderson
- Assistant Center Director and alumna Adrianna Braden
We will update the list as we hear from more of our current and former faculty and staff.
