As you all know, the hallmark of any law reform or governance project is flexibility, and it’s no different with our reunion. Due to some recent developments we are making some minor adjustments in our planned activities and want to share them with you.
Here is the new schedule with some links to new venues:
|Friday, May 26||Saturday, May 27||Sunday, May 28||Monday May 29|
Friday, May 26
Arrive in Tbilisi, welcome reception beginning at 5:00 in the Rooms Hotel courtyard in the city center near the reunion hotel.
Saturday, May 27
Meet and board the tour bus at 9:45 a.m. to depart at 10:00am for the 30 minute drive to Chateau Mukhrani, the ancestral home of Prince Ivane Mukhranbatoni, with its preserved chateau, gardens and winery.
At 10:00 a.m. we will have coffee and tea at the Chateau, followed by an update on all of the activities of the LL.M. program, the Center for Democratic Governance and Rule of Law, the law school and the university. After this you will hear from a number of your fellow LL.M. graduates talking about their experiencs since graduation (let us know if you would like to share yours).
Lunch will be served following the presentations and you will then have time to explore the estate and gardens and sample the various wines produced in the region, all included in our arrangements.
At 3:00 p.m. we will take the short ride to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia and seat of the Georgian Orthodox Church. There we will tour the city and have dinner.
Sunday, May 28
Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. there will be a tour of Tbilisi including the old city, and then free time to explore the city with your fellow LL.M. graduates.
At 6:00 p.m. we will gather at the Shadow of Metechi Restaurant overlooking old Tbilisi for a traditional Georgian supra, an evening of dining and toasts to celebrate the 10 years of the LL.M. program, the renewal of old friendships and the forging of new ones.
Monday, May 29
Questions & Other Information
How Much Will it Cost?
Our goal is to make the reunion accessible to as many of our graduates as possible. Ohio Northern University will be covering the costs of the receptions, tours and group meals during the event. This means that you will be responsible for getting to Tbilisi and your accommodations during your stay.
We have made arrangements with the hotel coste for a number of lower priced rooms (including a room for two at $105 total if you want to get reacquainted with your roommate!). You may also want contact one of your Georgian classmates for their suggestions on accommodations.
Contact Your Classmates!
We have been hearing from many of you, and getting lots of questions about who is coming. We will try to keep the list of attendees up to date but we suggest you get in touch with your classmates and encourage them to attend.
Who Will be There From ONU?
We are still reaching out to former faculty and staff of the LL.M. program and hope many of them will be able to join us. Right now the following have told us they will be there:
- Center Director and former LL.M. Director Howard Fenton & Beth Fenton
- Assistant Professor and LL.M. Director Karen Hall
- Professor and Law Library Director Nancy Armstrong & Bruce Kennedy
- Assistant LL.M. Director and alumnus Brian Anderson
- Assistant Center Director and alumna Adrianna Braden
We will update the list as we hear from more of our current and former faculty and staff.
Can We Share Pictures?
Yes! We encourage you to share photos with us as well. A shared google drive has been set up. Click here for access.
