Join the ONU Law Federalist Society in welcoming Professor Eugene Kontorovich who will be speaking on the topic: Pre-Occupied: Myths about Israel & International Law. The event will be held Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Room 129.
ONU Law's Black Law Students Association will host its 14th annual Diversity Forum in the College of Law’s Moot Court Room on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 11 a.m.
With its theme of “Back to the Future: The Past, Present and Future of Legal Practice,” the panel will discuss the historically popular fields of practice while addressing present and future trends such as the market saturation of specific fields and the developing areas of practice.
Tara Marks, a first year law student from Pittsburgh, Pa., testified before the U.S. Senate Budget Committee during a hearing on the impact of federal budget decisions on families and communities. Marks described how federal programs, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Pell grants, provided aid in her time of need. “I was able to lift [my son] and myself out of poverty by finishing school. SNAP was a critical factor in my success.”
