Application for ONU Law's Summer In Iceland Program now Available
The Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law has announced the second year of Summer in Iceland, the nation’s first study-abroad summer program in Iceland to be approved by the American Bar Association (ABA).
ONU has held exchange partnerships with the University of Iceland for more than 50 years, and this program is a continuation of that partnership. Summer in Iceland gives law students the chance to live in and explore one of Europe’s most unique countries, known for its blend of urban culture and incredible scenic views. Often called “the city that never sleeps,” Reykjavik, Iceland, provides students countless opportunities for exploration and discovery during its 24 hours of summer sunshine.
This year, students will have the opportunity to take a suite of business law courses. The courses being offered are International Trademark Law, Comparative Frameworks in Competitive Global Markets, and International Economic Law. The classes are limited to 30 students and are scheduled from Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, students will either spend time visiting historic legal venues or exploring Reykjavik and discovering all that Iceland has to offer.
To be eligible, U.S. law students must have completed at least one year of full- or part-time study at an ABA-approved law school or a law school described in Section 506(a)(1) of the ABA Standards for Approved Law Schools. Students also are required to provide a letter of good standing from the dean of their law school, a completed application and a copy of their passport.
The deadline to apply is March 15, 2016. For additional information, students should contact Deidré Keller, associate professor of law and summer abroad coordinator, at 419-772-2224 or firstname.lastname@example.org. General inquiries can be sent to email@example.com.
