ONU gives out William L. Robinson Young Alumni of the Year Awards
Ohio Northern University alumni Tonya J. Hunter and Chester Kaczor are the latest recipients of the William L. Robinson Young Alumni Award from their alma mater. The award was established by the ONU Alumni Association to honor individuals who have graduated from the University in the last 15 years and who demonstrate passion and loyalty toward their profession, community and alma mater.
Hunter and Kaczor were recognized during ceremonies prior to ONU’s Homecoming football game vs. Muskingum University at Dial-Roberson Stadium on Oct. 22. Bill Robinson and ONU President Daniel DiBiasio presented the awards.
Hunter, who grew up in Mount Vernon, Ohio, and now resides in Findlay, Ohio, earned her bachelor’s degree in biology with distinction from ONU in 2002 and her Juris Doctor with distinction, also from ONU, in 2005. She is a transactional attorney for Marathon Petroleum Company LP in Findlay, Ohio. She provides legal guidance to clients and others in the company on topics such as the Petroleum Marketing Practices Act, anti-trust laws, price discrimination laws and transactional law.
She previously worked as a litigation, human resources and employment attorney for Speedway SuperAmerica, Marathon Oil Company and Marathon Petroleum Company LP prior to her current position.
Hunter has been a member of the ONU Board of Trustees and is currently vice president of the University’s alumni association board. She also serves on the Getty College of Arts & Sciences advisory board and the Pettit College of Law Diversity Committee.
She is founder and chairperson of the Young Lawyer’s division of the Findlay Hancock County Bar Association, president of Lakeview Park Association and member of the Legal Aid of Western Ohio/Able Board of Trustees.
Kaczor, who resides in Columbus, Ohio, earned his doctor of pharmacy from ONU in 2006, and he later earned an MBA from Ohio State University in 2011. He is currently director of pharmacy services at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. As director, he is responsible for the strategic vision, administration and safe operations of pharmacy services at the hospital. In this position, Kaczor has focused on expanding clinical pharmacy services and implementing specialty pharmacy services with the goal of achieving best medication outcomes for patients.
Prior to joining Nationwide Children’s Hospital as manager of ambulatory pharmacy services in 2013, Kaczor served as regional director of operations for Pharmacy Systems in Dublin, Ohio.
He also is president of the Ohio Pharmacists Association. Additionally, Kaczor received the 2016 Pharmacy Leadership Award from the National Community Pharmacists Association and the 2016 Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award from that organization.
Kaczor is a member of the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group, the Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
The young alumni award is named in honor of Bill Robinson, who gave 45 years of service to the University and remains a staunch supporter of ONU’s mission, values and vision.
