ONU Law named a "Best" Law School by The Princeton Review
Ohio Northern University is one of the nation's most outstanding law schools, according to The Princeton Review. The education services company includes the school in the 2018 release of its annual feature, "The Best 169 Law Schools” online at https://www.princetonreview.com/best-law-schools.
According to Robert Franek, Princeton Review Editor-in-Chief, "We recommend Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law as one of the best institutions to earn a law school degree. We chose the 169 schools in this cohort based on our high regard for their academics and our assessment of institutional data we collect from the schools. We also solicited and greatly respect the opinions of 19,900 students attending these schools who reported on their experiences at their schools on our 80-question student survey for the book."
The Princeton Review's survey asked students at the 169 law schools about their school's academics, student body, and campus life as well as about themselves and their career plans.
Students described ONU Law as having a “congenial atmosphere between students and teachers,” and “a hidden gem in rural Ohio.” Another student noted, “Most of my peers are very happy with the pipeline that ONU has built for us into the legal community of our choosing.”
According to Princeton Review editors: “Law students looking to bunker down and study free of distraction, look no farther than ONU.” The small-town atmosphere in Ada, Ohio, “fosters a team-like environment.” Plus, “the school and the professors make the atmosphere welcoming.”
The ONU College of Law has also been recently recognized for excellent student outcomes. ONU Law graduates ranked first in Ohio for first-time bar passage following the February 2017 exam, and tied for second in the state for first-time bar passage following the July 2017 exam with a rate of 87 percent. Further, the ONU College of Law has been recognized for its visionary curriculum, which offers nine specialized tracks, and its emphasis on public service, which encourages students to become involved in service to their communities during both their academic and professional careers.
