Alternative Dispute Resolution
A. Read Chapters 1- 2 in Getting to Yes. Study the material in the mediation
handouts re: active and passive listening skills, pages 14-18.
B. Be prepared to
1. Be a listener using those skills.
2. Be an interviewee, telling the listener your problem (fictitious
and outrageous is fine).
3. Critique the skills of your classmates as they conduct interviews.
C. Stage One - read pages 30-32 of materials.
D. Bring your calendar so that we can start identifying partners and scheduling
"real life" mediations.
