Daniel S. Guy
Daniel S. Guy served as Dean of the College of Law at Ohio Northern University from 1978-84.
Guy was born in Columbus, Ohio. He received his B.A., with honors, from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1949. He then received his LL.B., with honors, in 1952 from Ohio Northern University. He received his LL.M. from the University of Michigan in 1956, and his S.J.D. from the University of Michigan in 1970.
Following service in the U.S. Army Adjutant General’s Office and as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Ohio, he joined the faculty at the ONU College of Law in 1959. While teaching, Guy served as a staff member for House and Judiciary Committees, as well as being a Congressional Fellow.
In 1973 Guy left ONU to join the faculty at the University of North Dakota School of Law until 1977. While in North Dakota, he served as Staff Attorney for the North Dakota Criminal Justice Committee.
Guy returned to Ohio Northern in 1977 and served as Professor of Law, as well as interim dean from 1978-80, then as dean from 1980-84. Although ending his position as Dean in 1984, Guy continued to teach at ONU until his retirement in 1998.
Guy was also active in state politics and the Ada Kiwanis.
