Darrel Davison is a partner in the Columbus, Ohio office of Thompson Hine LLP. He is a member of the firm's Real Estate Practice Group, where he focuses his practice on commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, development matters, financing and leasing transactions. Davison represents institutional investors with respect to all types of commercial real estate, including office, shopping center, industrial, multi-family and mixed-use properties and has broad experience in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions. Prior to joining Thompson Hine LLP, he was an in-house counsel with Principal Financial Group in Des Moines, Iowa, where he negotiated and was responsible for commercial real estate equity and debt transactions involving properties located throughout the United States.

Davison graduated, with distinction, from Iowa State University in 1989, receiving his B.S. with a double major from the College of Agriculture. He received his J.D. from Cornell University Law School in 1994. During his second and third years of law school, he was a law clerk to the Cortland County Judge.

Davison previously taught Real Estate Law at Columbus State Community College in Columbus, Ohio. He is admitted to practice in Ohio, Michigan, Iowa and Nebraska, and he is a member of the American Bar Association, Iowa State Bar Association, Nebraska State Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan and International Council of Shopping Centers. Davison has chaired and served on various bar association committees and has presented on real estate finance law and other real estate topics at numerous seminars. Davison became an adjunct professor in spring 2009 in the College of Law and teaches Real Estate Finance and Mortgage Law, Estates Wills & Trusts, and Elder Law.
