ONU Law establishes 3+3 partnership with Bethany College

Oct 11, 2018

Bethany College students hoping to pursue a career in the legal field will have a faster path to completing their degrees thanks to a partnership with Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law. Bethany College is a private, liberal arts college in Bethany, West Virginia.

The 3+3 Legal Education Admissions Program will allow students to complete their bachelor’s degree and juris doctorate degrees in six years instead of the normally required seven years of study.

Bethany College students interested in the 3+3 program will work with the Bethany prelaw advisor to ensure that the required courses and exams have been completed by their junior year. Under the agreement, students with the appropriate test scores and GPA will be guaranteed admission to Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law. Bethany College will count the successful completion of the first year of law school to satisfy the senior year requirements at Bethany College.

“For Bethany College students interested in pursuing a legal education, the 3+3 program at ONU Law is a great opportunity to save on tuition costs and enter the workforce earlier,” said Rachel Frey, director of law admissions at Ohio Northern University. “Students will enjoy the familiarity of our small college and vibrant campus, making it a smooth transition to law school.”

The enrollment agreement is scheduled to last for six years but is eligible for renewal upon completion. The ONU Law 3+3 program is currently offered with several other undergraduate institutions, including: Ohio Northern University, The University of Findlay, St. John Fisher College, Emory & Henry College, Notre Dame College, Trine University, and the Indiana Institute of Technology.
