I chose ONU Law because of the practicality of the program. When I was researching law schools I wanted a program that would not only teach the legal theories, but teach me the necessary skills I would need as well. There are few law schools that encourage students to take skills courses and teach not only how to think like a lawyer, but how to actually be a lawyer.
While at ONU, I gained invaluable experience clerking for a judge through a judicial externship, two private law firms, and the Ohio Secretary of State. In every instance, ONU was instrumental in securing my position.
To me, the ONU College of Law is a special place because of the students I get to know and work with. I keep in touch with a number of students after they graduate and pass the bar exam. I'm starting my twelfth year here, and it's a joy to hear from former students and see how successful they have become.
