Melding Theory with Practice

Ohio Northern engages its students in a rigorous academic curriculum, dedicated to creating analytical thinkers who will grow into successful lawyers. Small class sizes enrich the educational experience and allow professors to bring the curriculum alive for students. ONU law students can choose from a variety of specializations and course options while also expanding their experience by studying abroad, participating in Law Review, accepting research and teaching assistantships, participating in pro bono programs or taking an active role in Moot Court.

ONU Law's curriculum has been developed to teach students the necessary skills needed to become proficient practitioners. We expect our students to obtain 10 credit hours of skills training during their time in law school. Our skills courses are designed to provide students with the professional skills needed to practice the law. A vital component of skills training is hands on practice experience.  ONU Law’s 7 outstanding clinical placement programs allow students the opportunity to delve into the field and get the experience that will help set them apart after graduation. It provides them with the knowledge and expertise that our graduates and alumni are known for. ONU Law has provided clinical education opportunities for students for over 40 years and we continue to be on the forefront of experiential education.
