Our Academic Success Program is personalized to your needs, providing one-on-one mentoring and support to ensure your success in your classes, externships and on the bar exam.
At ONU Law, you’ll encounter people who care. Your first year on campus, you’ll be assigned a faculty advisor and an upperclassman peer mentor. They’ll check in with you, answer questions and provide guidance. In addition, our full-time academic support team will help you tackle the academic challenges of law school.
As part of our Academic Success Program, each student will have the ability to attend workshops either in person or online. These sessions are designed to teach you the skills you need to be successful on law school exams.
Our Academic Success Office provides a TA for each of the first-year classes, carefully chosen by ONU Law professors. The TAs have weekly office hours to meet with students and weekly succeed sessions where they go through practice problems with the students.
The Assistant Director of Academic Success also meets regularly one-on-one with students or in small groups to assist those students who are struggling and works with students on additional practice problems, rule-based reasoning problems, and analogical analysis problems.
ONU recognizes the importance of support and the level of connection needed as students navigate through their bar exam studies. We provide all of our ONU Law students with customized support from the Assistant Director of Bar Success beginning in their second year, when they register for the bar exam.
The Assistant Director of Bar Success becomes the student’s main point of contact once they begin studying for the bar exam so that students feel completely supported through their studies after law school.
