Our law graduates are making a mark in all 50 U.S. states and 26 countries. They’re working in many areas of law, including large, medium, small and solo firms; public interest groups; corporations; higher education; and government offices and agencies such as JAG programs, the Secret Service and the FBI. Here are just a few of the places where our graduates have ended up.
Planning for your future starts your first year on campus. We provide guidance and support for every step of the journey and transition from law student to legal professional.

We help you map out a career search strategy that’s best for your situation. We’ll work closely with you to prepare application materials, such as the creation of a resume and cover letters and compilation of references, transcripts and writing samples. We will also counsel you on interviewing and networking skills and how best to search for jobs.
We regularly host speakers (often ONU Law alumni) who share their expertise and advice on career-related topics. We also bring in organizations of interest to talk about specific career fields. For example, we’ve hosted all five branches of the U.S Armed Force for a panel discussion about their JAG programs.
We provide a job-search software platform, 12twenty, for students and alumni to manage their search and application process. Employers looking to hire law students and law graduates for a variety of legal positions post jobs on this site. We also provide 12twenty training workshops to maximize the usefulness of this resource.
We provide an online resource guide that will help you find internships/externships, fellowships, clerkships and full-time positions. In addition, we provide access to resources such as OSCAR (Online System for Clerkship Application and Review); the Government Honors and Internship Handbook provided by the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law; Martindale.com (firms and attorneys) and the NALP Directory of Top Law Firms in the Nation.
Law students can order business cards from ONU’s Printing Services. Having business cards to hand out at networking events, careers fairs and more, demonstrates your professionalism.
As an ONU Law alumnus, you have access for a lifetime to our career advisory services, including resume and cover letter review, access to employment opportunities through our online database, networking opportunities and assistance hiring ONU Law students and graduates.
We work hard to build long-lasting relationships with our alumni, and they turn into career resources for our current students, becoming advisors, donors, speakers and recruiters. If you come here, you’ll understand what it means to be part of a tight-knit family that takes care of its own.
