Event Description

The Ohio Northern University Law Review cordially invites you to attend its 49th Annual Law Review Symposium titled “Rethinking Rehabilitation: A Juvenile Law Symposium.” The event will take lace on Friday, March 20, 2026 and will be held in Tilton Hall, Room 129.

This annual gathering will unite leading scholars and practitioners to explore an important yet issue-ridden area of law: juvenile law.

Throughout the day, the speakers will examine the structure and challenges of the juvenile justice system, as well as viewpoints of its practitioners. Offering a diverse and comprehensive approach, the five speakers from three different jurisdictions will examine the system’s rehabilitative purpose, assess how effective it truly is, and discuss policies and programs that can be universally adopted to prevent recidivism and to prevent juveniles from entering the system in the first place.

The Symposium will culminate in a keynote address by Marsha Levick, Co-Founder and Chief Legal Officer of the Juvenile Law Center, America’s first public interest law firm for children. Levick's presentation, “Can State Constitutional Provisions Transform the Youth Justice System?” will urge the audience to consider adopting a more transformative vision of the juvenile justice system in America as opposed to a punitive one.

Please join us for this time of learning, where diverse perspectives and critical insights will converge to help attendees rethink the meaning of rehabilitation for America’s youth.
