Jonathan McKenna

Good things come in threes! Jonathan McKenna, a second-year law student, is the third in his family to attend Ohio Northern University, and a triplet, who for the first time, is blazing a path all of his own.

Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, McKenna was curious about Ada, Ohio when applying for law school. Both his mom and dad attended ONU and after years of hearing about the school and the surrounding community, he decided to take a closer look.

Hannah Smith

A second-year law student, Hannah Smith is a Double Bear, and now considers Ada home. “I never intended to go here,” says Smith. “When I took a tour of the campus, I felt this is where I needed to be.”

“Everyone here is so kind, genuine and hospitable,” she explains. “The longer I’ve been here, the more doors that keep opening for me.”

Siphokazi Lali

Siphokazi Lali, Sippie for short, is a third-year ONU Law student and a long way from home. The Cape Town, South Africa native had no idea how her life was about to change when her father moved her and her mother almost 8,000 miles away, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was just six years old.

Ohio Northern University is pleased to announce it will host in-person commencement ceremonies in May to honor the Class of 2021 and the Class of 2020, the latter of which had its ceremony postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The events will be held rain or shine at Dial-Roberson Stadium in order to comply with Ohio Department of Health guidelines and to allow graduates to bring guests.

The College of Law Classes of 2020 and 2021 Commencement ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 8 at 9 a.m.
