ONU Law will host the National Trial Competition - 2021 Regional Tournament, the oldest trial advocacy competition in the nation, Feb. 25 - 27.
This tournament will be hosted virtually by ONU Law, on behalf of the Texas Young Lawyers Association and the American College of Trial Lawyers. ONU Law Moot Court will coordinate and direct all judges, scoring and awards. All trials will be conducted by Zoom.

Race, Crime, and the Law: A Sociohistorical Analysis
ONU Law is pleased to announce a new lecture series created to address issues in the practice of law that are currently impacting members of our profession. This series is part of ONU Law’s effort to educate law students and the public on the many ways in which the law is directly involved in the social, economic and leadership issues facing our nation.

Professor Richard W. Painter received his B.A., summa cum laude, in history from Harvard University and his J.D. from Yale University, where he was an editor of the Yale Journal on Regulation. Following law school, he clerked for Judge John T. Noonan Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit and later practiced at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York City and Finn Dixon & Herling in Stamford, Conn.

When a fictional U.S. President’s grip on power is threatened in books, TV shows, and films, Section 4 of the 25th Amendment takes center stage. But Section 4’s text is confusing in places and it leaves several crucial questions unanswered without outside information. Section 4’s portrayal by Hollywood—sensationalized and often inaccurate—has not helped matters. This lecture will provide the basics, dispel the confusion, and debunk some common misunderstandings about Section 4.
Phi Alpha Delta CLE: Ethics, Professionalism and Substance Abuse
